Position Description

Travel NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana

Position Type: Travel Assignment

Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Impact Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Travel NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for critically ill newborns in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care environment. This role is ideal for compassionate nurses who thrive in fast-paced settings and are passionate about delivering exceptional care to infants and their families.

As a NICU RN, you will play a key role in delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor and assess critically ill newborns in the NICU environment.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and specialized neonatal care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Educate and support parents and families throughout the infant’s care journey.
  • Delegate and coordinate care with nursing and ancillary staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate family-centered care.

Requirements

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Louisiana RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
  • Specialty certification - Preferred
